Your Chance To Own A Piece Of Local History From Jack's Outback Restaurant

June 18, 2004

(PRWEB) June 18, 2004 -- The lease has expired and the building has been sold, closing the doors forever on the unique chapter in Cape Cod history known as Jack's Outback Restaurant. For the uninitiated, Jack's Outback was a "tough to find, tough to forget" restaurant hidden at the back of a parking lot behind the more polished facades that line Route 6A in Yarmouth Port. This unusual breakfast and lunch hangout was renowned for "good food, lousy service" as well as for an ever changing myriad of local color. In an atmosphere where insults flowed as easily as condiments, this was not an experience for the faint at heart. Loyal customers wore pride in their patronage like a badge of courage - members of a special society peppered with old salts, curmudgeons, and local characters who embraced the tough love aspects of dining at Jack's Outback.

On Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. there will be a special opportunity to bring home a piece of Cape Cod history with an auction of furniture, fixtures, equipment, inventory, and memorabilia from this wonderful Northside landmark. The auction will be held on site at Jack's Outback located at 161 Rear on Route 6A in Yarmouth Port with an inspection beginning at 9:00 a.m. Auction goers will be able to compete for the chance to take home a wide variety of items including their favorite mug and chair or the infamous tip bowl as well as the horns and bells that were used to celebrate the receipt of a tip from any misguided patron who felt compelled to share the wealth after serving their own meal and busing their own table. The memories, however, will not be for sale for they are priceless.

Terms: $100 refundable cash deposit to bid. Full payment in cash or bank letter guaranteeing your check. No exceptions. Immediate removal at conclusion of auction. 10% buyer's premium.
